About the Role:

Zimplistic is looking for a Manager- Accounting & Costing for our Singapore office.You will be leading all the accounting and costing activities of the company and report directly to the CFO.


Roles and Responsibilities:

Accounting :

  • Prepares monthly reports including monthly status analysis of funds and expenditures, reconciliations, audits, etc.
  • Manage the month-end/quarter-end/year-end close activities. Review journal entries, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, P&L and balance sheet flux and variance analysis, etc.
  • Leads, directs, and supports the accounting staff in all areas, including accounts receivables, accounts payables, grants accounting, financial statement preparation and analysis, fixed assets management, etc.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are developed, implemented and documented, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles for governmental agencies.
  • Support process improvement efforts to drive the efficiency and effectiveness of the corporate accounting functions. Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance the internal control environment and simplify and streamline the end-to-end processes.
  • Manage quarterly and annual audits by interfacing with auditors, ensuring timely completion of supporting schedules related to financials audits

Costing:

  • Manage the month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary; analyze inventory evaluation; prepare inventory roll forward; analyze purchase price variance, inventory valuation, quantity adjustments and other manufacturing variances as needed.
  • Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability.
  • Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory.
  • Develop standards and maintain approved rates in the operating system.
  • Gather/prepare inventory and cost data to support customer progress billings and/or milestone billings.
  • Support and assist in reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others.
  • Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management.
  • Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls.
  • Work in special projects as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience in hardware startups or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to collect, combine and analyze information under challenging conditions.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the rapidly changing startup environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills with individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards.
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts and reserves.
  • Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills.
  • Familiarity with accounting software, preferably Netsuite ERP

Qualification:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance Knowledge on IFRS or US GAAP
  • 6-7+ years of professional experience in accounting and costing.
